Archetype FAQs

GENERAL QUESTIONS

WHAT IS COVERED WITH MY RETREAT PURCHASE? WHAT IS INCLUDED?

The event is all inclusive and all encompassing.  Your retreat purchase is for the Habitas | Archetype experience in its entirety:

Your stay in one of our luxurious A-frame tented rooms, 3 daily meals, all non-alcoholic beverages, 15% gratuities, all wellness derived programming & activities, all yoga and SUP equipment including use of glass bottom kayaks,  curated musical offerings and several surprises planned which will be revealed throughout the journey. Habitas Tulum and Habitas Bacalar have a spa and wellness menu. Treatments and additional services can be booked through the front desk or Spa and will be billed to your room. Any additional gratuities for services, or any personal offsite trips may require cash.

You are responsible for your round trip transportation to and from the locations, however once you arrive, everything is taken care of for you within the scope of the event including transportation between the two properties during your stay. Additionally, you will have access to a personal liaison to facilitate your travel needs and answer any questions to make your journey with us as smooth as possible.

CAN MY FRIENDS or SIGNIFICANT OTHER DROP BY OR JOIN IN?

Archetype is a private event and is accessible only to those who purchase the package. If you would like to invite a friend to join us, please share:  HABITAS | ARCHETYPE

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

All retreat purchases are final and are non-refundable. Under some circumstances, a retreat purchase may be transferable to someone else within the community.

IS TRAVEL INSURANCE NECESSARY?

Travel insurance is highly recommended due to our ever changing global climate.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT IS CANCELED?

Habitas | Archetype is rain or shine and will be magical. In the unlikely event of a forced cancelation due to factors beyond our reasonable control (force majeure event), a full and complete refund of your retreat purchase will be issued immediately.

IS THERE CELL SERVICE / WIFI ON THE PROPERTY?

There is usually cell service throughout both properties, although often spotty. WiFi will be available throughout both properties as well as in the A-frame tent suites.

IS THIS EVENT ALL-AGES?

You must be 18 years of age, or older to participate and join us.  Given the nature of our event and the programming, this event is not for minors.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Pets are not allowed on the property for the duration of our event.

SHOULD I PLAN FOR BUGS?

Although our event takes place during an optimal time of year, there may be bugs and/or mosquitoes as we are guests in their natural environment. Insect repellents will be placed throughout the property as a preventative measure.

TRAVEL PLANNING

WHAT IF I CAN ONLY MAKE IT FOR A FEW DAYS, AND NOT THE ENTIRE EVENT?

There is always a noticeable and beautiful magic to be appreciated when everyone participates in the event together, in its entirety, from start to finish.  As with every Archetype event, this journey is immersive and we request that everyone arrives and leaves together.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ARRIVE EARLY OR STAY AFTER THE EVENT?

We can accommodate early arrivals and late departures at a discounted rate subject to availability.  As a courtesy,  Habitas is offering  both the Tulum and Bacalar locations for extended stays on either end of this retreat based on a first come and first served basis.

WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY INTO?

Our event begins in Tulum and will smoothly transition to Bacalar over the course of the event. The nearest international airport is Cancun, Mexico (CUN), this is roughly an hour and a half by car from Tulum and just over 4 hours drive to Bacalar.  This airport will have significantly more international flight options.

Another option is Chetumal, Mexico (CTM). This is approximately a three hours drive from Tulum and is approximately  a 30 minute drive from Habitas Bacalar.

HOW SHOULD I ARRIVE IN TULUM? – AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Habitas offers private, safe and reliable transportation that is booked directly thorough Habitas and is billed as a room charge. Once booking is complete, your personal liaison Paola, will contact you directly to make ground transport arrangements. Generally, we do not recommend a car rental as your car will likely be parked for the duration of the event. On the other hand, we will be providing all transportation for any off-site excursions if required. We will also cover transportation from Tulum to Bacalar for the second part of the retreat.

SHOULD I TRAVEL WITH CASH?

We suggest that you arrive with cash in Mexico, and exchange it into MXN pesos either at the airport or en route between Cancun and Tulum. There are no ATM’s onsite.

WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED IN CASE OF MEDICAL EMERGENCIES?

It is recommended that you bring any typical medications for travel, as the closest pharmacy is a 20 minute drive. In case of medical attention, Habitas has access to an on-call doctor.

COVID POLICIES AND PROTOCOL

Habitas abides by all regulated measures in terms of safety and cleanliness. It should be noted that all shared spaces are in an open environment with fresh air. Masks are optional for hotel guests but not required. Mexico remains open to all International travelers, and masks are still required in most indoor spaces throughout the area. Mexico does not require proof of vaccinations to enter the country nor places of business.

Habitas will organize onsite testing for any necessary PCR or Antigen tests upon departure.
