On Monday, February 6, 2023, Turkey and Syria were hit by a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake and a second almost as large, followed by several powerful aftershocks. Now being called “the disaster of the century,” this tragedy has resulted in at least 40,000 deaths to date, with rescue efforts still underway.
Our global impact initiative, Habitas RISE, is looking to provide relief and support to impacted communities through Karam House, a foundation built by Syrians for Syrians with over a decade of experience helping refugees build a better future. Karam’s team is currently on the ground providing immediate aid, including supplies and coordination, in Reyhanli, Antakya and greater Hatay.
