Journey There

We build our homes in unique and extraordinary corners of the world, lost among immense natural beauty. To ensure a seamless journey and comfortable stay, we’ve put together some tips and information that will be useful before and during your time with us. We invite you to reach out to us if you have any specific questions regarding your travels or our home.

Find Your Way

Our home in Dakhla is a 30-minute drive from Dakhla Airport and just a stone’s throw from Dakhla Lagoon, a world-class kitesurfing destination. Known as “The Pearl of Southern Morocco,” Dakhla is located on a narrow peninsula on the Atlantic coast, with a calm lagoon situated on the eastern side and the open ocean on the western side.

Your transport to and from Dakhla Airport is included in your stay when booked in advance. For assistance, please contact our Guest Experience team at guestexperience.dakhla@ourhabitas.com

For those driving to our home:

Starting from Dakhla airport, follow the P1100 road out of Dakhla’s city center and towards the lagoon. After approximately 25 minutes, you’ll reach a point where you should make a left turn onto PK25. Look for our Caravan by Habitas Dakhla sign to guide you. Our home is on the left hand side, set slightly back from the waterfront, facing the Dakhla Lagoon. Parking is available on-site. Driving from other locations or airports in Morocco is possible; however, we do not recommend it because of the significant distance.

Kite Tips

Prior to your visit, we encourage you to provide your specific details, such as wetsuit size, weight and shoe size, to ensure equipment preparation for a tailored experience. For experienced riders, feel free to ask us about ideal kite sizes based on expected wind conditions.

Opt for paste or wax sunscreen over creams that wash away in water. Complete sun protection, including sunglasses, is essential.

If you bring your own equipment, include a repair kit, as Dakhla’s local supply options might not precisely match your needs.

Carry ailment-specific medications. While we ensure standards to keep you safe and have on-site first aid equipment, we might not stock specific brands or medicines required by individual guests. Dakhla is remote and pharmacy options locally are limited.

Safeguard electronic devices from sand and wind with protective pouches or sleeves, given the region’s desert conditions.

WEATHER

The weather in Dakhla tends to be warmer in the summer months, while the spring and fall months are typically cooler. It’s important to note that Dakhla is a desert location and boasts an average of 300 windy days per year.

Dakhla lagoon water temperatures fluctuate during different seasons. A suitable wetsuit is key to enjoying your experience whether arranged with us or brought from home.
